Pitchers for Chinese Tea are often called chahai/"tea-ocean" or Gongdaobei/fairness cup and they are exactly what the name suggests: vessels for a fair distribution of tea.

While glass pitchers allow to see the beautiful colours of the teas in them, ceramic ones keep the tea warmer between decantation from the pot/gaiwan and the cup.
