STORY BEHIND THE TEA |
High mountain Oolong from Lishan. Connaisseurs prefer Lishan over the other tow famous mountains for tea in Taiwan, Alishan and Shanlinxi. The highest cultivable part of the Lishan range is the famous Dayuling. However farming at this altitudes has a huge environmental impace, which is why the government is slowly renaturalising the farms and not extending leases. At the moment, only five farms are left. Lishan tea is very similar in taste profile to Dayuling, as it is farmed in the immediate vicinity, but more affordable as it doesn't have the same prestige as Dayuling. In fact, a lot of tea sold as Dayuling is actually Lishan.
