STORY BEHIND THE TEA |
|
This a 20g package with chunks of the following cake.
Lao Bai means "Old White" and is considered the ancestor of white tea. It's made by a small producer who has a top priority clean tea.
The aging is very well done, so that it has a green feeling at the beginning, but develops a round and smooth taste over the years.
This is where white tea cakes become interesting, in a way that is comparable to puerh, where your head starts spinning in a good way. Because the tea needs a lot of time to develop a taste that is ready for consumption, this tea farmer first stores it 500 days at the tea makers place to have a controlled first stage.
It's very special that this tea is from the Jianyang area, from the Lao Bai cultivar, as most other white teas come from Fuding.
